**About the position**:
Reporting to the Security Manager, and working with the overall TFS community, including the Principals, the employees, the students and the parents, the security guard will be responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of TFS employees, students, and visitors. The security guard's main responsibility will be to patrol all TFS buildings and premises, responding to safety and security threats, and establishing a security presence. The security guard will also ensure safety and emergency procedures are followed.

**Main responsibilities**:

- Patrolling TFS buildings and premises, ensuring a visible presence at key times including at the start of the day, during recesses and at the end of day and anytime t are large student gatherings either inside or outside.- Directing visitors to reception- Will assist the car traffic at the beginning and end of the school day by directing drivers to the safe parking zones, facilitating an efficient drop off and pick-up of students- Responding to alarms and calls of security concern (Fire, lock-down procedures, other emergencies)- Keeping daily logs of activities and any issues addressed- Alerting authorities if needed for emergencies or security breaches- Addressing any infractions of building rules and/or forwarding them to the appropriate level of management- Inspecting, testing, and maintaining our security systems, as well as calling for maintenance as needed- May be required to provide security and traffic assistance during school events; either during school hours or after school hours and on weekends.- Has a customer service mindset, understands our clients, and communicates with them in a professional and polite way.

**Who we are looking for**:

- Completion of secondary school or vocational training in a field related to security and safety- A qualification in security training is required (Security guard and private investigator basic training)- 2-3 years of experience as a security guard in a similar environment, school environment experience would be a definite asset- Very good Written and Verbal Communication skills in English- Knowledge of Security and Fire Inspection Procedures- Able to manage multiple priorities, is able to discern the most important levels of urgency- Outstanding Surveillance Skills and attention to details- Comfortable in confrontational situation

Effective for the 2023-24 school year, TFS highly recommends COVID-19 vaccination for all members of the community. New employees may share their vaccination status with the Human Resources Department upon the start of their employment, if they so choose.
