**Job Summary**:
The Settlement Worker, International Students, provides support to international students in assessing and navigating life in Canada. This position conducts outreach to potential clients who are international students, and provides students with information on community resources and skill building to cope with managing student/work life in Canada.

**Your Role**:
Archway’s Settlement Worker, International Students with the Pathways to Integration Program contributes by:

- Conducting outreach into the International Student community.
- Assessing settlement needs and developing a settlement plan for new international students.
- Identifying gaps between supports needed by International Students and supports provided by Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs)
- Collaborating and problem solving with DLIs on Best Practice models.
- Providing support and case management to individual student clients as they navigate lifestyle and integration issues in the Canadian environment.
- Encouraging communication between the students and their families in their home country.
- Liaising between parents, students, community resources, and agencies in the community.
- Organizing and facilitating group orientation sessions on community resources and community related events for the student clients.

**Our Offer**
- Wage: $23 per hour
- A full-time, temporary position at 35 hours per week, availability (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, some evening or weekend work may be required)

**Getting an Interview - you will be considered if you have**:

- Experience in the settlement field.
- Connection to international students.
- Experience in engagement and recruitment.
- Experience facilitating workshops.
- Good research skills.
- Fluency in Punjabi is an asset.

**The Job Requires you to have**:

- A satisfactory criminal record check is a condition of employment.
- Strong organizational skills, and good attention to detail.
- Ability to navigate the internet and conduct research.
- Good computer skills; knowledge of Office365.
- Ability to work with different cultures with compassion and understanding.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; able to communicate respectfully and effectively across cultures.
- Knowledge of BC services and community-based programs and services which support newcomers to Canada.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: $23.00 per hour
