**We are currently recruiting for the role of Outreach Worker to join our team in Abbotsford, BC. The Outreach Worker position focuses on providing information, resources, and referrals to immigrant and refugee families and on supporting community events and relief efforts to assist citizens with their needs.**
- Recruit participants for projects.
- Initiate community conversations with partners
- Establish partnerships with community organizations
- Case management
- Work in partnership with other community, social and settlement workers.
- Acts as a key worker for families by gathering information relevant to the client’s problems, needs, and risks by interviewing, observing behavior, meeting with caregivers and service providers;
- Assesses the information gathered to identify client problems, needs, and risks to develop and implement a service plan which may include referrals, home visits, integration visits, or other, within program guidelines;
- Works cooperatively in a team of outreach workers;
- Leads and participates in the programs/activities when necessary;
- Encourages independence, self-sufficiency, and community involvement in participants;
- Maintain accurate statistics as assigned by Society, Funders, and Manager.
- Helps to distribute winter clothing and food packages on set distribution days.

**Job Type**: Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 2 months

Schedule:

- Weekend availability
