**Work schedule: Evening shifts**

**Up to 35 hours per week**

The Supervisor will work with the Hospitality Services Manager to oversee the Out Back Shack (OBS) and Oasis restaurants, providing a high level of customer service, and will be responsible for supervising and providing leadership/mentoring to Catering staff, Oasis, and OBS staff members. The Supervisor is responsible assisting with recruitment, ensure training of new staff, and to ensure policies and procedures are maintained. Other responsibilities will include balancing tills at shift changes and/or end of day, monitoring the restaurant floor activities, and addressing customer concerns in a professional manner. The Supervisor will close the restaurant and ensure things are organized and ready for the morning shift.

In addition, this position may float to various areas of the Hospitality department to assist with any staffing needs as necessary.

**Job Duties**
- Supports management as required and is the point of contact for Oasis and OBS staff in Manager’s absence.
- Ensure detailed records of stock and records of inventory use and sales, and advises management on ordering where necessary.
- Provides encouragement and leadership to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks.
- Responsible for recruitment of staff and ensure that staffing levels are to agreed standards and are not exceeded without prior consultation.
- Assist management with orientation and regular performance reviews.
- Respond to team member questions or concerns, and oversee team member work for quality and guideline compliance.
- Provides ongoing feedback to management on employee performance and workflow.
- Uphold all health and safety regulations, WHMIS, HACCP, and FIFO.
- Calculate and record totals of transactions.
- Ensure cash is balanced at the end of every shift.
- Establish or identify prices of goods and services, and tabulate bills using calculators, cash registers, or optical price scanners.
- Greet customers entering establishment.
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers as required.
- Maintain clean and orderly areas.
- Assist Hospitality Services Manager as required.
- Together with the Food Services Coordinator, ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Back of the House Department.
- Ensure that reports and administration requirements are submitted in a timely fashion.
- Ensure that regular inventories are conducted.
- Ensure all events and food specials are promoted properly using all the tools given to you by the FSU (i.e. Social sites, web, newspaper and posters).
- May float to various areas throughout the Hospitality department to meet staffing needs.
- Circulate throughout all restaurants, bars and catering events, maintaining a positive profile with customers and staff.
- Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner.
- Assist with ensuring catering events remain on schedule.
- Provide assistance with products as requested.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years of hospitality experience
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience an asset
- Leadership skills
- Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
- Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Excellent organizational skills
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Able to work well under pressure and prioritize
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, and customers
- Good training, coaching, and mentoring skills are essential
- High level of proficiency with Point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office software packages.
- Experience with Maître’D POS software an asset
- Proven data entry and typing skills
- Professional appearance and manners
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
