Main Accountabilities:
- Coordinate all activity related to recruitment by promoting Baffinland brand within the community by supporting resourcing initiatives.
- Be solution oriented and work to constantly improve processes related to Inuit employment
- Responsible for communicating positions details and the onboarding of new hires, including the completion and processing of all associated paperwork.
- Participate in school/college visits to promote job opportunities at Baffinland
- Identified Inuit talent in the communities to submit for immediate review to the recruitment team
- Develop strong relationships with Baffinland’s Community Liaison Officers.
- Responsible for utilizing Applicant Tracking System to record and track all stages of recruitment.
- Accountable for all filing, entering, and maintaining of job requisitions and offer documents.
- Update the Inuit recruitment database and provide statistics/analysis as required.
- Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with staff at the Qikiqtani Inuit Association
- Follow payroll cut offs and communicate changes, and information in line with required timelines
- Assist with documentation management and filing on a weekly basis.
- Supported by the Sustainable Development Team, ensure that Company HR practices align with the IIBA
- Participate in Community recruitment throughout Nunavut, as scheduled
Main Qualifications:
- minium of 3 years of work experience
- Must know how to work with MS Word, Excel,MS Outlook etc.
- Proven ability to communicate with key stakeholders including community members, Inuit Associations and government agencies.
- Must have good people skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks on a timely basis.
- Nunavut Land Claims Beneficiary, with a thorough knowledge of Inuit Culture is an asset.
- A Diploma from a vocational institution or college is preferred
- Proven ability to work independently and in a professional manner.
