Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources (Manager), the Human Resources Coordinator will assist the Manager on all Human Resources (HR) activities within the Department of Family Services. This position provides ongoing advice and support to all departmental staff and central agencies in administrating staff recruitment, staff training and development, employee relations and disciplinary matters. The incumbent will also provide technical guidance and policy advice to all divisions in the department in the areas of human resources development and staff training.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a recognized college diploma in Human Resources Management, Labor or Industrial Relations, or related field along with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant Human Resources experience.

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
