**Aurora-Newmarket Family Health Team (ANFHT)**

**Position Description**

**Position**: Saturday Medical Receptionist

**Qualifications**: Appropriate education and relevant experience
**Reporting to**: FHT Executive Director
**Governing Body**: ANFHT Board of Directors
**Revision Date**: May 2023

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Quality of Care, patients are to be treated with professionalism and empathy at all times, during all situations
- Maintain and respect patient confidentiality, comply with guidelines established by the FHT
- Ensure patients are placed in rooms for physicians, clean out exam rooms and prepare for next patient
- Communicate to physicians regarding patient arrivals, walk-ins, no shows, expected late arrivals
- Schedule/reschedule appointments for patients via telephone or direct contact
- Ensure patient demographics are current and up-to-date in EMR system
- Validate health insurance cards
- Working knowledge of Aurora-Newmarket FHT policies and procedures

**Skills Required**:

- Courteous, empathetic
- Utilize the appropriate methods and styles of communication, including telephone etiquette
- Meticulous with attention-to-details and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task
- Working knowledge of EMR system (Practice Solutions)
- Telephone proficiency
- Medical office reception experience considered an asset

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 3.5 per week

**Salary**: $19.00 per hour
