**Position Overview**:
Under the general supervision of the Manager, Financial Reporting the incumbent is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely billing and collection of monies owed to WRHA, and for providing information for reporting about billing and receivable activities by:

- Directing and supervising staff, planning and scheduling work.
- System development, implementation, testing and maintenance.
- Ensuring efficiency of work and quality of outputs.
- Performing various Accounts Receivable duties and Special Projects.
- Other duties.

**Experience**:

- Demonstrated supervisory abilities with a minimum of three years experience in a computerized Accounts Receivable department, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Experience with credit and collection administration required.

**Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)**:

- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required. Intermediate standing in a recognized professional accounting program, a Business/Accounting diploma from a recognized business college or equivalent combination of education and experience as recognized by the WRHA required.
- Formal training in credit and collections (preferably FCI designation) or ability to obtain designation in short time required.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Knowledge of patient/clinic based systems (e.g. Admission/ Transfer/Discharge system, Ambulatory Care system, Rise) an asset.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and their families in stressful situations to collect monies and/or make financial (credit) arrangements.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and willingness to assume additional responsibilities.
- Ability to plan, organize and schedule work for supervised staff in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions to meet deadlines.
