**NATURE & SCOPE**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Direct, plan and execute all aspects of Membership
- Responsible for successful operation of core operations and meeting targets in all key areasincluding performance, financial, registration levels, sales, risk, quality, staffing, market research, pricing and contribution level
- Develop and manage operational and capital budgets; analyze and interpret financial statements and variances to guide operational decisions
- Develop, manage, and monitor Membership annual operating plan in support of Association strategic plan
- Required to provide direct delivery support to operations on a regular basis (ie. serving customers at the Membership Desk, supporting/leading Fitness, Aquatics or Child & Youth programming)
- Drive growth and development while safeguarding assets and financial viability; lead membership enhancement strategies
- Allocate material, human, and financial resources to implement organization policies and programs
- Establish and maintain Membership policies and practices; ensure compliance with legislative requirements, industry standardsand YMCA policies and practices; ensure Y Canada initiatives are implemented and

standards met including child protection and SAM 2.0
- Establish, implement, and monitor quality measures; takecorrective action when deficiencies are identified
- Ensure that physical assets are maintained in conjunction with the VP Asset Management
- Support recruitment, retention, and performance management strategies to develop an effective team at eachsite
- Build new and existing community partnerships to leverage community impact; work closely with partners to enhance YMCA programs and services
- Coach and develop supervisory staff
- Direct delivery, SAM 2.1

**QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS**
- University degree in business or a related field
- Appropriate certification in Health and Fitness industry; current Standard First Aid and CPR -C
- Current clear Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening [within 1 year from the date of issue]
- Extensive knowledge of Health, Fitness and Aquatic programs/industry required
- 5 years senior leadership experience or equivalent, preferably in a charity/not for profit; YMCA experience is preferred
- Current National Lifeguard/Swim Instructors certification is an asset
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
- Demonstrated expertise in management of people, finances, program, and volunteers
- Demonstrated experience in planning, systems development, and marketing
- Experience in coaching others
- Proven change management leadership
- Good knowledge of relevant business technology
