Equals Brewing Company was founded in 2018 and has quickly grown to be a well-respected partner in producing great beers, ciders, and ready-to-drink products for many of Ontario’s and Canada’s favourite breweries and brands. Equals launched Bangarang Hard Seltzer in 2020, which has grown to be one of the fastest-growing RTD brands in Ontario. In 2021, Equals launched Shake Lager, which won a gold medal in its first appearance in the Canadian Brewing Awards. Recently, acquiring the successful Side Launch brand to add to our growing portfolio of award-winning alcoholic beverages.

**Role Summary**

**Responsibilities**
- Assist with the consistent operation of the cellars. This includes; transferring tanks, cleaning tanks, checking fermentation, and completing required dosing, blending, filtering, and mixing of liquids as required.
- Complete required quality checks and sensory checks on in-progress brews and final product brews prior to sending to packaging
- Once trained, operate the brewhouse with a focus on quality and consistency. Monitor timing of products and cellaring task to ensure limited downtime.
- Assist with the new product development and brewer series limited release brews
- Monitor all in-process beer to ensure it is ready for packaging and within specifications with no defects
- Problem solve with team is defect or off flavours are detected
- With training provided by the company, develop into a key sensory taster
- Complete all Clean-in-place procedures for fermenter tanks, brite tanks, process lines, and equipment used in a timely manner
- Maintain a sanitary, clean, and safe working environment
- Support kegging operations as required

**Qualficiation**
- A demonstrated passion for the brewing industry and interested to learn more
- Formal brewing experience is preferred but not required
- Education in a related field such as Brewing, Distilling, Food Science, Brewery Operations, Chemistry or Microbiology is considered an asset
- A strong mechanical knowledge and comprehension to assist with maintenance on minor equipment problem solving
- Mathematical proficiency is helpful to understand calculations for blending, dealcoholization, and more.
- Ability to priorities multiple task with successful time management to ensure deadlines are met and brews are completed on time

**Working Conditions**
- Ability to work rotating shifts; days, afternoons, and nights
- Able to work 8-hour and 12-hour shifts
- Overtime work may be an option during peak seasons of operation
- Lift items up to 25 kg
- Work in a production environment: fast-paced, hotter environments, and can be loud at times with equipment running
- Standing/Walking for long periods of time
