**Summary**

The Kensington Market Community Land Trust (KMCLT) intends to hire a Community
Investment Manager to support future community-owned land acquisitions. The KMCLT is a non-profit corporation with a mandate to acquire and provide for the management of land, in perpetuity, in and near Toronto’s Kensington Market. We remove property from the pressure of the commercial real estate market and hold it for local community benefit.

**Start Date**:December 2023 (Date TBD)
**Salary**: $35/hour

**Responsibilities**

The Community Investment Manager will lead the implementation and management of KMCLT’s Community Bond Campaign, which will be launched in January 2024. This Community Bond Campaign will help financially support KMCLT’s future acquisitions of properties in and around Kensington Market. The Community Investment Manager will be responsible for the following:

- Organizational Development and Governance_
- Support the development and growth of the Community Bond Campaign.
- Organize board, stakeholder, and public meetings to assist with the organizational development of the Community Bond Campaign.
- Support the implementation of strategic plans, monitor progress and results, and periodically evaluate successes and key issues of the Community Bond Campaign.
- Manage and coordinate with contracted consultants, student fellowships and internships, and volunteers in relation to the Community Bond Campaign.
- Marketing/Communications and Community Engagement_
- Assist with the creation of an organizational funding strategy, which includes key messages and cases for support for investors.
- Develop sales and marketing strategies, oversee implementation of tactics and strategies, and use best practices to ensure investment goals are met.

- Organize and facilitate events to raise awareness of the Community Bond Campaign.

Community Bond Campaign.
- Work with a web developer to develop copy for the Community Bond Campaign webpages and update the current website.
- Partnerships_
- Be an ambassador for the Community Bond Campaign through maintaining and furthering relationships with local politicians, government and agency officials, funders, developers, local landlords, community groups, tenants, BIAs and other stakeholders.
- Work closely with KMCLT’s Community Bond Campaign partner, Tapestry Community
Capital, through regular client meetings, training sessions, and public events.
- Work closely with funders and operating partners on all phases of the Community Bond
Campaign to ensure adherence to partnership agreements.
- Other duties as assigned._

**Required Qualifications**
- A self-starter with proven ability to lead projects to completion with mínimal supervision.
- 3 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, project or campaign management, consulting, or in a related field.
- Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, business, public policy, or in a related field or equivalent work-experience.
- Experience with project management tools, Google Workspace, website platforms, digital marketing and analytics, and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills through both in-person and on-line communications.
- Ability to create and manage business plans, along with developing and tracking metrics.
- Ability and willingness to undertake a wide variety of tasks and to work flexible hours to support Board and community activities.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Familiarity with fundraising, capital campaigns, and grant writing.
- Experience with community development and engagement, community-based activities and/or working with people of diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
- Knowledge of Community Land Trusts.
- Relationship to the Kensington Market neighbourhood.
