Develop CPA Ontario’s Editorial Strategy To
- Maximize Content Delivery and Audience Engagement
- (12 month contract)

CPA Ontario is currently in search of a **Strategic Writer, Communications and Content**, who will be responsible for developing the editorial strategy for the organization and leading the ideation, development and execution of a variety of communications materials both for internal and external use.

Reporting to the VP, Communications, you will partner with teams across the organization to create smart, engaging content, promoting the organization’s strategic mandate, objectives and values to various stakeholders, including members, students, firms and the profession at large. In addition, you will be accountable for providing guidance on new and emerging communication trends and technology.
- What You’ll Be Doing:

- Developing the organization’s editorial strategy which will include planning thoughtful communications which align with the organization’s strategic objectives across various internal and external channels.
- Providing insight and direction to cross-functional teams on new and emerging communications trends, platforms and best practices.
- Creating editorial plans that demonstrate deep understanding of public perceptions and industry issues and weighing risks and complexity of external factors in guiding and influencing message development.
- Evaluating content performance and optimize as needed against KPIs.
- Writing, creating content and developing materials for executive speeches, talking points, blogs, articles, newsletters, social media content, internal communications, key messages, backgrounders, questions and answers, staying on brand with respect to organizational tone and voice.
- Brainstorming, researching, and writing a wide range of communications products for internal and external audiences
- Working with design and digital teams, as well as agencies to develop project deliverables
- Project managing a pro-active communications calendar for corporate and executive initiatives as well as managing project budgets, timelines and scope.
- Who You Are:

- A post-secondary graduate in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field with a minimum 5 years of experience in a Journalism, Communications and/or Public Relations role.
- An excellent writer, proofreader and editor preferably with an understanding of the issues and trends impacting business and the accounting profession in Canada and around the world.
- Highly collaborative working in cross-functional environment, with outstanding attention to accuracy and detail, problem solving and analytical skills.
- A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal, relationship building and presentation skills.
- A superior project manager with sound organization skills, and a proven ability to work well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
- Digitally fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook with an excellent understanding of digital communications tools and how to leverage them to their full capacity.
- Passionate about connecting the dots and driving change.
- Flexible to work outside of regular business hours if/when required
