**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Research Project Coordinator contributes to research capacity by supporting the development of a Mental Health and Addictions Community Insights Project. Community insights aims to develop a framework and a population-level data set that will be renewable over time. The availability of such date sets will enhance the capacity to conduct needs-based, integrated planning for MHA services and supports for Nova Scotians. The Research Project Coordinator works closely with all NS Health Innovation Hub and Network of Scholars members and cultivates excellent relationships with stakeholders, academics, and community partners.

Specific

**Responsibilities**:
COORDINATION AND SUPPORT
- Plans, develops, and co-ordinates projects in consultation with partners’ key stakeholders
- Coordinating reporting and assisting in internal and external events, such as expert advisory panels, forums, round tables, seminars, and other relevant group meetings.
- Conducts focus groups, engagement sessions, and interviews
- Identify additional researchers and research groups whose work aligns with the Mental Health and Addictions Community Insights Project and promote research capacity building
- Educates and updates project team members and other partners on study/project protocols
- Participates in various community consultation meetings
- Support the project team in navigating the research landscape at post-secondary institutions and research organizations in Nova Scotia (and beyond)
- Manage and coordinate processes related to project charter, statement of work, requests for proposals, and data-sharing agreements

RESEARCH, ANALYSIS, AND DOCUMENTATION
- Conducts reviews of the literature and examples of relevant best practices in relevant areas
- Encourage new approaches and/or research questions as ideas and opportunities arise that complement previous or ongoing efforts
- Prepares documents for submission to the Research Ethics Board (REB) for study/project approval and closure
- Identify and document outputs (e.g., peer-reviewed publications) and knowledge mobilization activities (e.g., poster and conference presentations) and outcomes (e.g., policy development, new initiatives)
- Support the team in conducting quantitative analysis and preparing written reports of findings.
- Use statistical tools to analyze and interpret data sets
- Demonstrate the opportunity for system stakeholders, academics, and communities through the use of data analysis, identifying regional trends, and their impact
- Present findings in a clear and concise way
- Create appropriate documentation to understand the steps of the data analysis process and duplicate or replicate the analysis

ADMINISTRATION AND COMMUNICATION
- Determines human, material, and fiscal resources required to fulfill protocol in conjunction with the Principal Investigator
- Ensures adequate financial support from the sponsor to conduct the study in conjunction with Principal Investigator
- Administers research contracts and project management activities and ensures project milestones and other requirements are achieved
