The Structured Cabling Technician will be responsible for the installation of structured cabling of commercial buildings with a professional approach to customer satisfaction. We are looking for a self-starter with a passion for technology and is comfortable working independently and as part of a team, in a collaborative, goal-oriented atmosphere. You have a reputation for being reliable, customer-focused and approach your daily work in an efficient and highly organized manner.

This position will be based out of Calgary and the surrounding area.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Install and service cabling (copper/fiber) infrastructure and devices for Data and Audio-Visual; includes pre-wiring, installation, termination, testing, reporting, and labeling per specifications and drawings
- Install network racks and cabinets in server rooms
- Responsible for ensuring the Health & Safety of yourself and customers in an environmentally friendly manner while performing work
- Ensure that safety and incident reporting procedures are followed
- Interact with customers and prospects, ensuring all inquiries are handled professionally
- Ensuring test results are properly downloaded into the test equipment with the proper identification
- Responsible for completing detailed and accurate paperwork
- Communicate accurate details regarding the progress of installation to site lead
- Accountable for ensuring all prepared time sheets and expense reports are accurate and submitted on time
- Other duties as assigned

**REQUIREMENTS**
- 1-3 years’ structured network cabling and testing experience
- Diploma in cabling/telecommunication an asset
- Must be willing and able to work various shifts as assigned (evenings, weekends & statutory holidays), based on business need
- Read and interpret published work plans for installation purposes
- Current CSTS and Working at Heights and Fall Arrest Certification an asset
- Must be able to successfully complete a Criminal background check
- Customer focused both internally and externally; ability to handle both favorable and unfavorable customers; excellent verbal and written communication
- Comply with all safety regulations and meet safety training requirements to maintain a successful safety record
- Ability to work well under pressure with tight timelines and frequent demanding deadlines
- Ability to self-start and stay on task with mínimal supervision; identify problems and situations and implement solutions or escalate as required
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and to handle calmly and efficiently situations ranging from routine to emergency
- Professional, trustworthy, and reliable with a strong attention to detail

**Required Skills**:

- Post-secondary education in electrical, telecommunications, or electronics would be an asset
- Flexibility to work in a variety of environments, from construction areas to finished offices
- Physical ability to perform the requirements of the job, including pulling cable on a regular basis
- Comfortable working at heights
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills

We offer an excellent, competitive wages along with a comprehensive benefit package.

**Salary**: $18.00-$26.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
