We offer an end-to-end solution for all functional areas of FTTx; including design, communication and approval, outside plant, and inside wiring. We are equipped to excel from the design and planning stage, to equipment installation and commissioning.

**Fiber Optic / Structures Cabling Technician**
- Periodic customer interaction and generally working in pairs to splice, test and troubleshoot fiber optic systems
- Requires a high level of comprehension, attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Operation of a fusion splicer - including ribbon, OTDR & power meter tester are required
- Flexibility in meeting required OT at times is an asset
- This is a position that requires physical labour, and basic construction skills from time to time.
- Customer oriented role, requiring a friendly and positive attitude and the ability to work as part of a team
- Basic mechanical aptitude is required in order to utilize power tools and work off of ladders to install fiber optic cabling into customer premises through a variety of installation methods
- Driving company trucks; loading and unloading materials and equipment, hauling trailers in a safe manner
- Working independently or part of a team
- Keeping a clean, safe work area
- Labor as required
- Participate in safety meetings
- Pedestals and/or manhole/vault Entry
- Placing cable (conduit and pole/overhead)
- Splicing fiber optic cables (Fusion)
- Inside & outside plant construction
- Perform successful cable terminations and testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with cable connections.
- Experience handling cable installations and repairs
- Ability to use hand tools effectively for cable terminations and equipment installations
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve cable-related issues
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate cable terminations, connections and labelling
- Arial work - lashing
- You would work outside in all weather conditions and occasionally in confined spaces or at heights.

**In addition to splicing cable our technicians must assist our ISW teams.**

**Qualifications**:
Fiber optic cable installation experience is required

Confined space entry, AWP, bucket truck, and fall protection training is required

Must possess a valid Alberta driver's license and have a clean driving record

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $28.00-$38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
