The Personal Support Worker (PSW) is dedicated to providing a professional high standard of quality non-medical personal care and health maintenance customized to suit the resident’s needs, according to their individual plans of care. Collaboration with other health care team members is expected where and when appropriate.

**Duties**:
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in consultation with a Registered Practical Nurse:

- Assists Residents, of varying ages, to meet their basic physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs.
- Assisting or providing total personal care such as toileting, bathing and perineal care.
- Assisting with eating, dressing and grooming activities.
- Assisting resident’s with various needs by answering call bells.
- Responsible to report and document all aspects of care provided to residents.
- Assisting with ambulation, positioning and transferring using mechanical lifts such as a ceiling lift, Portable Full Mechanical Lift or a Sit-To-Stand Lift.
- Performing sitter duty or resident watch for confused or high risk residents.

**Qualifications**:

- PSW certificate or a nursing student from an approved college or university who has successfully completed the second year
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $24.44-$26.09 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Ottawa, ON K1V 8N5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Shift availability:

- Day Shift (preferred)
- Overnight Shift (preferred)
- Night Shift (preferred)

Work Location: In person
