The Controller is responsible for the oversight of the corporate accounting department and the review of the property financial reports. This individual will have strong knowledge of the following: Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Budgeting, Payroll and Human Resources. The Controller is responsible for overseeing the coding and entry of invoices, the draw request and client management process, including monitoring cash flow, and the maintenance of the General Ledger. This individual is responsible for supervising the overall daily accounting operations and is an integral part of corporate strategy planning and financial organization decisions.

**Job Duties**
- Implement policies and procedures for the accounting team, including regular review and modification, to ensure best practices are in place
- Monitor and report on company performance and profitability on a monthly basis
- Conduct financial planning, tax reporting, and provide financial updates at the senior level
- Participate in the annual business plan and related financial budget, cash flow, and pro forma, including leading the annual operating budgeting process for the company’s properties, and contribute to the development of strategic direction and goals for the company
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit, review and other assurance requirements
- Oversee and supervise the accounting team
- Provide support to develop and empower Accounting and Controls team
- Review monthly financial reports and supporting documentation prepared by accountants
- Ensure the company has the necessary systems in place to execute the reporting, downloads and transfers required by current and future partners and clients
- Review all accounting systems and make recommendations for upgrades and replacements as necessary
- Assist with the selection and implementation of any IT hardware/software
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- CPA certification required
- 5+ years’ experience in controllership, financial reporting, and financial management
- Experience with Sage 300 is an asset
- Previous experience in the property management industry strongly preferred
- Systems oriented and extremely organized
- Proficient Microsoft Office Programs, such as Excel
- Proficient in QuickBooks
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- High level of accuracy and detail-orientation
- Collaborated and self-motivated
- Proactive in ensuring job knowledge is current
- Maintains high standards of professional and ethical conduct

**Work Conditions**
- Working regular business hours (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm)
- Overtime as required
- Sedentary role with long periods of sitting and working from a computer
- May be required to do some light lifting

**Job Types**: Part-time, Contract
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 20-30 per week

**Salary**: $43.16-$48.70 per hour
