**General Purpose**

Laboratory Services is seeking a proactive, dedicated and knowledgeable IT Support Technician to become part of our team. As the primary point of contact for technical issues, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the seamless operation of IT services for over 300 users across multiple locations. Your role will involve diagnosing and resolving a variety of hardware, software, and network issues, providing exceptional customer service while working to minimizing any disruption for staff.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Troubleshoot endpoint devices such as PCs and printers, and resolve software issues related to the Office 365 suite and specialized instrument software.
- Manage user accounts by creating, disabling, and adjusting permissions.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering PC components, toner, and peripherals.
- Set up and configure new hardware, including PCs, tablets, printers, and phones.
- Coordinate with vendors for repairs or upgrades, and ensure proper tracking and maintenance of all IT assets.

**Requirements**:

- Two-year college diploma in Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Systems Technology, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Microsoft A+ certification preferred.
- Proven knowledge of various operating systems and hardware platforms, including Microsoft Windows, Novell OES, Linux, and Apple.
- Basic understanding of network protocols and the ability to troubleshoot local connectivity issues.
- Ability to write and follow standard operating procedures and comprehend critical infrastructure and server systems in a laboratory environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, professional phone etiquette, and the ability to manage tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Knowledge of laboratory testing operations and terminology is preferred.

**Hours of Work**: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (35 hours per week), with occasional scheduled or emergency overtime, including weekends, as needed.
