As a valued member of our team, reporting directly to the Supervisor, Circulation and News, you will collaborate closely with a dedicated group of early risers and start the day by reading the news, identifying key articles, and then producing two daily compiled news product to be distributed and read by Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs), their staff, and Assembly staff

**What You’ll Do**:
**You’ll act with integrity to**:

- Work as a part of team to prepare and distribute our morning news packages for Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs), their staff, and Assembly staff
- Prepare digital current awareness packages, working to tight deadlines and specific production standards
- Be responsible for selecting, classifying and formatting articles to be complied into a comprehensive news package

**You’ll support our collaboration as you**:

- Are a highly motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently or in a team and the flexibility and other skills needed to serve a client group with frequently changing priorities and tight deadlines
- Are responsible posting an online version of the newsletters
- Help in the production of a digital current awareness newsletter, using a licensed media database to vet articles pulled from canned searches, and occasionally working to revise and amend search strings, and troubleshoot the publishing platform
- Are able to work both independently and collaboratively in a well-established team environment
- Are reliable and able to work the hours as posted

**How You Qualify**:
**You demonstrate excellence through your**:

- Post-secondary diploma or equivalent work experience and must demonstrate a high degree of reading comprehension, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, flexibility, and demonstrated experience working under pressure
- Proficiency with the MS office suite is essential; Adobe Acrobat and/or media monitoring databases such as Meltwater and Cision would be preferred
- Background in related fields such as journalism or copy-editing, which would be a strong asset

***The hours of work for this position are from 6:00 am - 9:30 am, Monday through Friday, though there may be the occasional requirement of overtime on heavy news days, such as a Provincial Budget, Throne Speech or Election.**
