In order to improve efficiency to our processes we have created a new role and need to hire a Site Support technician who can provide on-site support to our site superintendent team for all phases of office Tenant Improvement (TI) projects. This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative team with a focus on ensuring client satisfaction while living Aura’s values of Care, Humility, Creativity, Passion and Fun

About You

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of construction activities, techniques and methods;
- Basic knowledge of scheduling concepts (i.e. milestones, Gantt charts, etc.);
- Basic knowledge of the safe use of hand tools and power tools;
- Strong customer service skills;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English; and
- Basic knowledge of computer software including MS Office and project management software.

Experience
- 1+ year of experience as labourer in the construction or landscaping industry

Credentials
- High school diploma;
- Personal vehicle and Clean Driver's License; and
- Level 1 First Aid Certification an asset.

About the Role

The Site Support Technician works closely with the Site Superintendent to facilitate the smooth running of Aura’s job sites. In this role the technician will be learning all aspects of construction from practical hands-on activities to general administrative and logístical matters as well as more technical processes and procedures. The Site Support Technician will also be an active participant in the running of Aura’s safety program and assist in ensuring that all of Aura’s work sites are running safely and in compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations. They support all personnel on project sites, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Aura’s worksites are friendly and professional.

- Organize/relocate materials around site;
- Provide housekeeping support;
- Use hand tools and power tools to assist onsite labourers;
- Provide support to the Site Superintendent as requested;
- Collaborate with the Project Coordinator to schedule on-site visits;
- Follow pre-construction and construction processes;
- Review Scope of Work documents and verify that trades are completing work as required;
- Support site mobilization to ensure site is setup to quality and safety standards;
- Support materials receiving process/checking against POs on site and/or materials ordering;
- Participate in site walkthroughs and checklists reviewing to-do’s daily and coordinating with project stakeholders to ensure they are completed;
- Address and/or escalate issues accordingly (i.e. site problems/delays, challenges with trades, failed inspections, safety incidents, etc.); and
- Other site duties as assigned.
