**Group Services Worker, Adult Day Respite - Multiple Positions**

Part Time Contract: To March 30, 2023

Hours of Work: Staff must be able to work a minimum of 24 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with flexibility to increase as required.

- **The Role**:_

Reporting to the Supervisor, Group Services Workers in the Adult Day Respite program work directly with adults with Autism in a recreational, group setting. Group Services Workers work alongside Shift Leaders to facilitate inclusive programming, work towards individual goal development, and maintain open communication with caregivers.
- **Core Responsibilities**_(include but not limited to):

- Support adult clients with ASD to participate in an in-Centre respite setting
- Provide direct care to the participants (including personal care), facilitate programming, and maintain health and safety standards
- Support participants in engaging in a variety of interactive activities that support both recreational and individualized goals
- Implementation of crisis management techniques where necessary using Crisis Prevention and Intervention.
- Ensure adequate materials (i.e. visual aids, programming materials, etc.) are available and ready for use each shift
- Participate in program planning with team members during preparation time
- Maintain consistent and open communication with participant caregivers
- Complete daily progress reports on each participant and other documentation, as required
- Maintain regular contact with the Supervisor/Team Leads regarding all issues pertaining to the program
- Maintain a clean and organized work/office area
- University/college education in a relevant discipline-completed or working towards completion
- Previous experience providing direct support to youth or adults with ASD
- Understanding of the principles of applied behaviour analysis
- Demonstrated problem solving, crisis management skills and experience managing challenging behaviours
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Be reliable, dependable, and adaptable
- Valid CPR Level C Certification
- Satisfactory current Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check
- Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19
