The Coordinator of Communication Services manages and directs the overall activities of the Branch in achieving its mandates of engineering, design, implementation, and maintenance of radio infrastructure, emergency services communication, and electronics to operational City Departments

With a primary responsibility for resource management and support of the Branch and daily operations, this includes managing and overseeing all budgetary planning, contract management, vendor management, bid opportunities and purchasing activities.

This role oversees engineering, communication technologies, and electronics installation, maintenance, and support for the City’s radio systems. Radio systems are relied upon for public safety, bylaw, transportation, and utility services.

**As the Coordinator of Communication Services you will**:

- Resource Management - Lead and develop high performing teams and people
- Financial Management - Contribute to strategic and financial planning
- Contract Management - Manage the analysis of opportunities, problems, and processes, and proposal of business solutions for departmental services
- Manage branch operations
- Manage stakeholders relationships

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or equivalent education and experience
- PMP or PRINCEII is desired.
- 6 years’ progressive experience in a resource or business process environment.
- Experience managing client relationships.
- Experience leading, coaching, providing feedback, delegating, recruiting, and developing people.
- Experience negotiating and influencing in order to impact decisions, solve problems and advance opportunities.
- Experience with project management and change management methods, practices and procedures.
- Financial management experience including financial planning, budgeting and financial monitoring is desired.
- Knowledge of specialized technologies and engineering/maintenance needs of radar units, breathalyzers, robots, computers, eavesdropping tools, and similar devices would be an asset.
- Skills in vendor management and contract negotiations, project control and managing consultants.
- Excellent written communication skills including the ability to write politically sensitive and confidential material for senior level staff.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain staff morale, foster, develop and maintain effective and positive working relationships with teams, partnerships and alliances, and engage and influence partners to achieve target outcomes.
- Ability to create and promote a healthy and inclusive workplace culture.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and responsive to changing priorities and circumstances as well as the ability to work on diverse projects simultaneously.
