**Facility Services - Supervisor of Maintenance Services**

As a member of the management team, the Maintenance Supervisor is accountable and responsible for planning, organizing and directing the maintenance and repair of all buildings under the jurisdiction of the District School Board of Niagara. As a section leader, directs maintenance staff to ensure properly functioning facilities while at the same time, providing quality service and high customer satisfaction.
- Exemplary leadership skills and the ability to prioritize and successfully complete projects with conflicting deadlines;
- Proficiency in Health and Safety requirements and associated training guidelines;
- Strong communication skills.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Supervsie staff to ensure adequate coverage and support staff’s learning and development;
- Plan and manage maintenance demand through a dynamic eBase work order system;
- Oversee maintenance and property services activities for the department to provide a safe and healthy environment, facility, and infrastructure;
- Support the facility renewal program, by ensuring construction projects are high quality, on schedule and within budget;
- Maintain records on a variety of health and safety issues, including asbestos management, fuel and electrical safety,
waste management, confined spaces and others;
- Develop and administer the maintenance budget to ensure purchases are consistent with budget allocations and adherence to DSBN purchasing policies and procedures;
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications required include**:
- A building maintenance background with an emphasis on mechanical systems and should possess a degree or diploma in a relevant field such as Mechanical Engineering Technician, Engineering, Master Electrician or equivalent.
- An Ontario trade certificate preferably 313A.
- Must possess a G2 and an ODP License.
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible management experience in building maintenance for a large multi site, unionized employer;
- Must be familiar with building plumbing, electrical and gas codes and have detailed knowledge of heating, refrigeration, controls, building automation systems and plumbing trades;
- Demonstrated experience with preventative maintenance and management systems;
- Proven supervisory experience with strong leadership, mentoring and team-building skills;
- Proven conflict resolution skills and the ability to develop a culture of high trust, collaboration and engagement;
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
**Salary range: $85,446-99,990**. Includes a comprehensive benefit plan. This is a full time, 12 month, 35 hour per week position and is part of the Board’s union-exempt Administrative Management Group.
