**Job Title**: Line Cook/Supervisor

**Overview**:As a Line Cook/Supervisor at our bustling Irish pub, you'll serve as a pivotal member of the culinary team, responsible for food preparation, cooking, and supervising kitchen operations. This role requires expertise in cooking, leadership capabilities, and the ability to maintain quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Food Preparation and Cooking**: Oversee and participate in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of Irish pub-style dishes, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes and quality standards.

**Supervisory Role**: Lead and supervise kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring smooth operations, assigning tasks, and maintaining high levels of performance and morale.

**Training and Development**: Train new kitchen staff members on cooking techniques, safety procedures, and kitchen protocols, ensuring adherence to standards.

**Quality Control**: Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation to meet the pub's standards. Address any deviations promptly and ensure corrective actions are taken.

**Inventory Management**: Assist in inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining adequate stock levels while minimizing waste.

**Adherence to Regulations**: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and food safety practices in the kitchen area.

**Collaboration and Communication**: Foster effective communication and collaboration among kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure efficient service and resolve any operational issues.

**Problem Solving**: Address kitchen-related issues, resolve conflicts, and handle unforeseen situations calmly and efficiently.

**Assistance to Chefs**: Collaborate with head chefs and managers to develop new menu items, specials, and improvements in kitchen operations.

**Requirements**:
**Experience**: Extensive experience as a line cook in a fast-paced restaurant. Previous supervisory or leadership experience is beneficial.

**Culinary Skills**: Proficiency in various cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment operation.

**Leadership Abilities**: Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and guide kitchen staff.

**Organizational Skills**: Excellent organizational abilities with attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.

**Communication**: Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with kitchen staff, management, and front-of-house teams.

**Problem-solving**: Ability to make quick decisions, handle pressure, and resolve issues effectively in a fast-paced environment.

**Flexibility**: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the pub's operational needs.

**Working Conditions**:

- Fast-paced kitchen environment with high volume during peak hours.
- Standing for extended periods and exposure to heat, steam, and potentially loud kitchen equipment.

This job description intends to provide an overview of the responsibilities and qualifications required for the role of a Line Cook/Supervisor in a busy Irish pub. Duties and responsibilities may be adjusted or modified based on the evolving needs of the establishment.

Extended healthcare offered after 1 year of full-time employment.

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
