Be accountable and responsible for the health and well-being of the children
through the planning and preparation of nutritious meals.
- Be responsible for ensuring an educational, caring and safe environment for the
children and parents.
- Ensuring that the kitchen is operating in accordance with Public Health and
Provincial licensing standards.
- Promote the positive image of the company and play a major role in making the
company a provider of choice in educational programming for the communities that
we service.
- Work alongside and report to the Supervisor.
- Help construct the weekly grocery list with knowledge of the current supplies and
necessary groceries to fulfill the upcoming menus
- Basic knowledge in food handling and preparation is essential to work in the
kitchen
- Working in the B&A program for 2 hours a day.
**Job Requirements**:
In order to be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements,
including:
- Food Handlers Certificate or experience in a related field
- A desire to positively impact the lives of children and families.
- The ability to demonstrate an understanding of current provincial policies and
regulations. Full knowledge of Public Health policies and procedures
- Possess critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to bond with children and parents.
- Previous experience working in a commercial or childcare kitchen.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Organization and time management skills; attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
- Up-to-date CPIC, immunizations and CPR/First Aid.

**Salary**: From $16.50 per hour
