HCM Manager Job Description

The Human Capital Management (HCM) Manager position serves as a consultant to leadership on all HCM-related functions within Workday. The position formulates partnership across the HCM function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.

This position is responsible for leading and collaborating with key stakeholders and leaders across various business units and locations. This leader leverages experience and knowledge as an HR Professional and Workday technical expert to provide consultative guidance and solutions aligning company and business objectives to achieve superior results.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Leads a team of HRIS professionals to support the business with the overall maintenance of the Workday system.
- Consults with leadership for decisions and provides HCM expertise guidance
- Assess, strategize, and manage Workday deployments for the organization
- Oversees the setup and maintenance of User Security Roles
- Directs the HRIS team daily operation of the HRIS system, including user support and regular system maintenance
- Analyzes requirements for changes and system enhancements to develop solutions and implementation
- Leads and assists in resolution of complex end user issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations to determine corrective actions required.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employee data, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to HRIS team (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Executes special projects as needed by HCM/HRIS department in conjunction with the stakeholders in the IT department and other various groups as needed.

Job Requirements and Skills needed:

- Work experience as an HRIS Manager or similar role, preferably within Workday
- Demonstrated skill set in configuration or specialized knowledge in configuration logic.
- Understanding of data protection regulations
- Hands-on experience with complex HR database administration
- 3-4+ years prior HCM management and configuration experience
- Successfully completed at least 1-2 end-to-end HCM implementations
- Experience in multiple HCM functional areas, including experience in defining how multiple HCM modules work together.
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
- Existing and current Workday HCM Core Certification required
- Workday Recruiting, Payroll, Absence or Compensation certification or experience preferred
