Our Media & Concessions Manager oversees all of our media/retail and concession operations. From capturing our guest photo/videos to selling souvenirs to brewing a great cup of coffee - this team does it all.

This is a full-time seasonal (contract) position.

The successful **Media and Concessions Manager** will have digital media and/or retail/customer service experience, and be able to manage and motivate a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency at River Shop Cafe and Retail Desk.

**Responsibilities/Duties**:

- Overseeing media/retail and concession operations
- Troubleshoot issues with equipment (Fuji Printers, Canon DSLR, GoPro, Mac OS Monterey)
- Training and development of staff including River Staff duties related to Digital Media
- Dealing with staffing issues: scheduling; conducting appraisals and performance reviews; and providing or organizing training and development
- Touring the locations regularly, talking to colleagues and customers, and identifying or resolving urgent issues
- Responding to customer complaints and comments
- Ensuring standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met
- Assist Marketing Department with creative media as required - including capturing and editing photo/video for promotional and marketing purposes

**Health and safety responsibilities**:

- Understand and follow all company health and safety policies and procedures
- Understanding of all MARSEC (Marine Security and Awareness) levels on how it relates to WJBT operations. In house training is provided.

**Skills and Competencies**:
Technical:

- Developing prints on a Fuji DX100 printer
- Work efficiently in both Mac and Windows operating systems
- Photo editing in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop
- Video editing in Final Cut Pro X
- Technical knowledge of Canon DLSR and GoPro Hero digital cameras

Behavioural:

- Dynamic, outgoing and confident
- Excellent oral communication - comfortable speaking in large groups and giving directions
- Organizational skills with regard to inventory levels and merchandising
- Demonstrates above average initiative, engages guests in conversation
- Problem solving and self control - dealing with upset/nervous/irate guests
- Punctual and respectful of time restraints and demands when serving large numbers of people

**Physical Demands Associated with the Position**:

- Possibility of lifting retail packaging when receiving or allocating stock
- Possibility of being outside during all types of weather
- High intensity and fast paced environment
- Clean shelves, counters, tables and floors

Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours has been giving passengers a taste of adventure on the white water of the Niagara River since 1992. Passengers experience a thrilling and educational one-hour guided tour, where they can take in the awe-inspiring scenery of the Niagara Gorge, feel the rush of the Class 5 Devil’s Hole rapids and marvel at the power of the Niagara Whirlpool. The tour company’s fleet of custom-built jet boats depart from locations on the Canadian and American sides of the Niagara River, including Queenston, ON and Lewiston, NY.
