About the Opportunity

Aecon Concessions is seeking a highly skilled Cost Controller to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for providing cost control support to ongoing projects and ensuring that our project control system is properly implemented and utilized.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to project team for project control activities, including estimating, proposal, cost systems, change management, schedule review, project reporting, and related processes.
  • Develop and maintain a change log to track all internal & external changes and monitor progress through the change management process.
  • Single Point of Contact for all project changes.
  • Coordinate with the planning/scheduling and cost team when preparing the Project Baseline Change Requests (PBCR).
  • Learn and operate within project specific contract conditions.
  • Participate in customer and internal management project status reporting meetings, as required.
  • Aid cost control and project accounting groups as required.
  • Other assignments as required by the direct line manager.
  • Develop reporting documentation as required for internal Joint Venture communications.
  • Interface between the project controls team and the engineering/construction team.
  • Coordinate and implement project communications initiatives as identified by the project team.
  • Active involvement in all engineering, procurement, quality, and construction matters for greater understanding of the project status.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of related experience is preferred.
  • College and/or University degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint applications an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team.
  • Intermediate to expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks within a high-pressure work site environment.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
  • Willingness for continuous learning and advancement of technical knowledge.
  • OPG Clearance.
  • Due to the nature of work conducted by DNNP, mandated nuclear export controls requirements must be met for employment.
