**Corrections Literacy Instructor (part-time contract position)**

Teaching in PTP’s Corrections Literacy Initiative (CLI) is an exceptional opportunity to work with incarcerated men who want to strengthen their literacy skills.

PTP Adult Learning and Employment Programs is a community-based organization located in Toronto, Canada, dedicated to strengthening the connection between learning and work. For over thirty years, PTP has delivered programs and services that have created pathways for positive change to people facing systemic and personal barriers to learning and employment.

Your **primary duties** are:

- Prepare and deliver classes (in, e.g., financial literacy, book club; trades math); provide on
- going feedback to learners
- Facilitate registration, skills assessments and learner plan development; track attendance
- Support service coordination and next-steps planning
- Collaborate with team members to ensure program integrity and successful project outcomes

Teaching sessions are either 1.5 or 2 hours long at set times during the day or evening on weekdays or weekends depending on location. Instructors are scheduled to teach 1 or more sessions per week. **Compensation per session is $110 (1.5 hr sessions at Maplehurst in Milton) or $147 (2 hr sessions at Toronto South Detention Centre) and includes all preparation, class delivery and administration of prescribed tasks.**

Participation in virtual staff meetings is paid at $30/hr. Compensation for entry processing time is $15/site visit.
