We currently have an opening for a fulltime **Biology Student (Summer 2023) **in our **Ottawa, ON** office.

**Educational & Experience Requirements**:

- Pursuing a College Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in biology, or environmental sciences, fish and wildlife technology or other related field.
- Experience with environmental fieldwork is considered an asset.
- Prior work experience in engineering consulting is considered an asset.

**Main Duties**:

- Assist GEMTEC biologists with field work including: ecological land classification surveys, headwater drainage feature assessments, amphibian breeding surveys, breeding bird surveys, basking turtle surveys, species at risk surveys and/or bat maternity roost surveys.
- Assist with construction and infrastructure project monitoring.
- Compile and input field data.
- Assist with the completion of Environmental Impact Statements, Tree Conservation Reports, Fish Habitat Assessments and/or Species at Risk Screening Assessments.
- Other duties as required.

**Position**:

- Summer 2023 Student
- Providing proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 may be a condition of employment. Exceptions to this requirement will be considered on a case-by-case basis in relation to local health guidelines and/or client requirements/regulations.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicle.
- Capable of carrying out field duties, which may at times require travel, working in adverse conditions (weather, bugs, etc.), moderate lifting, travelling over rough terrain and working extended hours (evenings/nights, early morning).
