**The Opportunity**

As a Return to Work Coordinator you assist the Work Abilities and Return to Work Advisor in developing effective injury and illness management and return-to-work plans that support people with their recovery and successful return to work. You provide support in the ongoing administration, development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of BC Ferries' short-term illness and injury plan (STIIP), long-term disability (LTD), Workers Compensation (WCB) and return-to-work program. The program promotes an integrative, collaborative approach to respond to illness, injury and reduced work capacity, through support for early intervention and safe return to work.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist in developing, implementing, and enforcing return to work and disability management policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements and the collective agreement
- Provide support in managing disability claims information and data administration in Cority Case Management Module
- Communicate with work sites to identify return to work opportunities for workers with disabilities
- Assist the Work Abilities and Return to Work Advisor with providing education on return to work opportunities and disability management topics (i.e. duty to accommodate, gradual return to work design, etc.) to workers, worker representative groups, People Experience Teams, third-party Adjudicators, and health care providers
- Liaise with medical and other health care professionals to ensure accurate, timely and complete information to support sick leave claims and planning for return to work and/or accommodation
- Interact on a regular basis with third party providers (i.e. health insurance providers, WorkSafeBC), provide assistance and support with the disability administration requirements
- Coordinate and schedule return to work meetings with workers, worker representative groups, employers, insurers, and health care providers

**Qualifications and Skills**

You have a Bachelor’s degree in related field, and 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in disability management activities, case/claim management, and return-to-work. You also demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills and an ability to successfully take on new challenges, new responsibilities, and progress professionally towards a stated career goal.
