Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our radiology team as an MSK Injection Assistant. As an LPN, you will work closely with our radiologists to assist in the preparation and support of patients undergoing musculoskeletal (MSK) injections. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of patients while maintaining high standards of patient care during MSK injection procedures.

**Responsibilities**:
1. **Patient Preparation and Education**: Prepare patients for MSK injections by explaining the procedure, addressing any concerns or questions, and ensuring informed consent. Provide pre-procedure instructions and ensure patient comfort throughout the process.

2. **Assist Radiologist**: Assist the radiologist during MSK injections by preparing the necessary equipment, positioning patients appropriately, and providing support as needed. Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols.

3. **Documentation**: Accurately document patient information, procedure details, and any observations or interventions in the RIS system. Ensure all documentation meets regulatory and compliance standards.

4. **Patient Follow-up**: Provide post-procedure care instructions to patients and address any questions or concerns they may have. Follow up with patients as needed to monitor their recovery and ensure optimal outcomes.

5. **Collaboration and Communication**: Communicate effectively with members of the healthcare team, including radiologists, technologists, and support staff, to coordinate patient care and ensure a smooth workflow. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to address patient needs and optimize care delivery.

6. **Quality Assurance**: Participate in quality assurance activities to maintain high standards of care and patient safety. Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices in MSK injection procedures.

Qualifications:

- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Alberta
- Strong knowledge of MSK anatomy, injection techniques, and sterile procedures would be an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Commitment to maintaining professional competence through ongoing education and training.
