**About the Opportunity**
The Manager of Quality Assurance is accountable for ensuring the services provided to the Supported Individuals of CLS are continuously reviewed and evaluated for effectiveness and relevance. This position is responsible for ensuring that a high quality of life is supported for all individuals served and is based on sound, collaborative planning, and best practice. This position ensures that the CLS regularly gathers and responds to stakeholder feedback that results in continuous quality improvement and practices that meet or exceed all CLS policies and procedures, accreditation standards and applicable legislation. This position temporarily reports to the Chief Operating Officer and will ultimately transition to the Director of Policy and Practice.The authorities delegated to this position include policy recommendations and ensuring compliance with the requirements of the accrediting and legislation body. This position oversees the role of the Quality Assurance Advisor.
**Specific Accountabilities**
**General Duties**:
- Quality Assurance
- Develops and completes the following CLS reports on an annual basis:
- Quality Assurance Report
- Performance Measurement Report
- Accessibility Plan
- Works with the CLS Senior Management to ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation standards (CARF) and legislative requirements including;
- ensuring the development of new policies are in alignment with CARF standards.
- advising CLS Senior Management as necessary on any required policy/practice revision due to legislative / accreditation amendments; and
- completion of the Annual Audit Review process.
- Manages and coordinates the preparation process for CLS’s CARF Survey, including:
- Working with the appropriate personnel to prepare the evidence for the CARF Survey
- Communicating with CARF representatives regarding compliance, interpretation of standards and Survey requirements.
- Completing the annual conformance documentation.
- Contributes to the organization’s annual planning process as it relates to quality assurance and
CARF compliance, including keeping up to date on any new initiatives and methods of support
that are in keeping with the vision of CLS and that are intended to improve the quality of life of
Supported Individuals, and discuss the value of these with the CLS Senior Management team.
- As part of the Performance Measurement process, monitors the satisfaction of external
stakeholders, Supported Individuals and their networks through regular contact, open
communication, including survey feedback and the analysis and resolution of complaints.
- Oversees the complaints process to resolution (unless this results in an investigation).
- Compliance
- Oversees compliance and the implementation and sustainment of the Scriptcare program.
- With guidance from the Director of Policy and Practice, ensures medication management
policies and procedures, meet, or exceed licensing and accreditation standards and
communicate accordingly.
- In conjunction with the Director team and Leaders, ensures proper protocols for Supported
Individuals are in place and monitored.
- With guidance from the Director of Policy and Practice, ensures:
- all incidents are recorded correctly.
- all incidents are submitted to the appropriate authority on time.
- all follow-up by the Leader and Director team is completed on time.
- Compiles data from all incidents across the organization at least annually in order to conduct an
analysis that can inform and guide CLS practice.
- Quality Planning
- Oversees the implementation of the Annual Audit Review Process and works with the Quality
Assurance Advisor and Director team to ensure all individuals’ service needs are identified and
addressed and that Supported Individuals and network concerns with regards to planning are
mediated and resolved.
- Develops and prioritizes goals for the Quality Improvement Plan.
- People Management
- Contributes to the organizations culture by modeling the CLS values and supporting other
Leaders and employees to align their actions to the mission and vision.
- Manages and oversees the Quality Assurance Advisor including delegating workflow,
communicating goals, and following up on internal / external inquires.
- Monitors the quality of work and provides feedback to the Chief Operating Officer / Director of
Policy and Practice on the degree to which operational standards are met.
