Position Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in Metergy’s growth in Canada and the US. This position offers interesting and challenging work, more predictable hours, and the flexibility of a hybrid work environment. You will have a broad range of work with the ability to deal directly with various business groups and outside counsel.Metergy is able to offer a competitive compensation package and a friendly environment. This position will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer and Senior Vice President, HR.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with and provide both legal and business/operational support to all the business groups and corporate functions within the company
- Assist with mergers & acquisitions, financing, regulatory matters, marketing, intellectual property, government relations and a wide range of commercial matters
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements including sales agreements, confidentiality agreements, supplier agreements and contractor or consultant agreements
- Participate in the development of company policies and processes to ensure compliance with the company’s legal and regulatory obligations
- Update company standard forms and templates
- Advise and support various on regulatory and corporate law matters
- Advise on corporate governance matters
- Maintain and refine legal processes to ensure efficient and consistent legal services
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Be a practicing lawyer and member of the Law Society of Ontario
- 2+ years experience working in a major law firm or inhouse legal counsel in a corporate / commercial capacity
- Strong business acumen with experience drafting and negotiating commercial arrangements
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
- Thrive in a fast-paced growing business and have the flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities
- Strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously with mínimal direction
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organizational and time management skills
