Manager, Workforce Planning

**Position Purpose**:
The Manager of Workforce Planning & Strategy will support projects and tactical activities related to the maintenance and continuous improvement of key business processes surrounding labour capital and Information Technology within the Merchandising Execution Team for the Canadian division. Such processes include the strategic planning process, labour forecasting, capacity management, labour engineering, and operational efficiency. The individual will monitor, support, and make recommendations to deliver on functional plans and to improve operational process capabilities. In addition, the individual will liaise with teams across the organization to define business requirements, and establish and manage essential phases of the project management lifecycle for both technical and non-technical projects. This will require the development of strong relationships and effective communication skills between technically and non-technically oriented teams across the organization and external third-party groups.
**Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities**
- Provide analysis and conduct labour study testing to assist leadership in defining strategic roadmap
- Prepare financial analysis and forecasts for use in the development of operational productivity recommendations and financial business decisions
- Prepare financial analysis and monitor IT funding resources for use in the development of operational productivity recommendations and financial business decisions
- Collect business requirements across functional groups for labour management related initiatives
- Liaise with technical teams, communicating business process requirements in an effort to build tools/solutions that maximize the user experience and labour productivity
- Maintain external business relationships/build out scope-of-work documents with vendors
- Identify skill gaps and tool procurement opportunities in an effort to promote efficiency
- Work collaboratively with field teams, internal business partners, to drive cost and/or productivity improvements and use productivity gains to justify new MET services.
**Nature and Scope**
- Typically reports to Senior Manager Field Implementation
Number of direct reports - 6-8
**Environmental Job Requirements**
- Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors.
- Typically requires overnight travel 5-20% of the time.
**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies**
- Process Management for Productivity and Continuous Improvement. integration.
- Total Work Systems Experience in Continuous Improvement Program
development and execution to deliver the highest productivity to meet the needs and requirements of internal and external customers.
- Solid track record of leadership and management skills.
- High degree of problem solving and decision making ability, directing (and following up) on the work of others.
- Proven ability to manage positive business partnerships and perform in complex cross-functional environment.
- Establishes and maintains two-way dialog with others on work and results.
**Education Required
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
**Years of Relevant Work Experience**
- 2 years experience
**Preferred Qualifications / Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
- 3-5 years of analytical experience (ideally in a retail environment) with emphasis on process improvement, change management, and data analysis
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the position: Economics, Business Administration, or Logistics
