With 145 years of outdoor education experience, LCS Summer Academy provides fun and challenging programs for campers ages 4 to 18. Each program is full of opportunities to learn in and through the outdoors on our 315-acre waterfront campus. We believe strongly in nurturing the development of the whole person by focusing on community-minded leadership, character education, and environmental sustainability.

**Camp Coordinator Role Summary**:
Reporting to the Director, LCS Summer Academy & Ancillary Programs, the Camp Coordinator(s) assume a pivotal role in orchestrating the diverse range of activities offered at LCS Summer Academy. Collaborating closely with Camp Leadership, Coordinators, and Counsellors, these roles ensure the seamless execution of engaging and enriching activities for campers. Responsibilities encompass designing, overseeing, and implementing a wide variety of activities tailored to the interests and developmental stages of campers, fostering a vibrant and inclusive camp environment. These roles offer a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on camper engagement and enjoyment while contributing to the overall success of the summer program.

**R**esponsibilities**:

- Develop, oversee, and implement activities within assigned areas for afternoon and evening sessions, tailored to the age group of students.
- Ensure the physical and emotional safety of students and staff during all camp activities.
- Ensure necessary personnel and staffing are assigned to activity areas to provide adequate support.
- Interact with campers and parents at drop-off and pick-up to foster enthusiasm and excitement for the camp experience.
- Communicate goals and participate in regular reflective feedback sessions to continuously improve the camp experience.
- Fulfill additional evening or overnight duty responsibilities 1-2 nights per week.
- Uphold all policies and procedures related to residential life at LCS.

**Education and Experience**:

- Post-Secondary Education or equivalent and qualifications or experience in a residential camp or school setting
- Experience with teaching English Language Learners considered an asset
- Current certifications/qualifications (or received by the time they arrive at camp) in the following:

- Standard First Aid and CPR C/AED (required) Bronze Cross Certification (required
- can be completed within staff training); NLS certification preferred
- Ontario Pleasure Craft Operator License an asset
- Mental Health First Aid or equivalent an asset
- Ropes course and climbing wall certifications an asset
- ORCKA Instructor certifications an asset
