Reporting to the Director, Pricing and Legal Project Management, the Client Arrangement Advisor, will oversee the operations related to financial and billing terms within outside counsel guidelines (“OCGs”) and Billing Guidelines (“BGs”). The role will develop and manage processes to negotiate finance terms within OCGs and BGs and ensure the Firm’s processes are set up to achieve compliance throughout the intake, billing and collections process.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Act in the capacity of the centre of excellence for all aspects of client guidelines as they relate to financial terms, including billing, pricing, insurance, and other related guidelines
- Review and understand all finance-related terms to ensure compliance, including developing standard responses and approaches to our review
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Manager, Billing and Manager, Billing Compliance to ensure a clear interpretation, documentation and set up of all billing guidelines
- Communicate and clarify guidelines to internal stakeholders, including client relationship partners, legal assistants and members of the billing and compliance teams
- Develop efficient internal processes to track, monitor and ensure adherence to complying with guidelines
- Work alongside the Office of the General Counsel to provide a seamless experience for our lawyers around the timely review and processing of OCGs and BGs as a whole
- Provide financial compliance education, coaching, and advice to Firm Management, our Partners and Associates
- Address any issues or conflicts that arise in relation to guideline compliance.
- Work with the Director, Pricing and Legal Project Management and others in the Office of the General Counsel to evaluate and improve internal processes related to managing client guidelines
- Collaborate with Conflicts, Finance, and other departments in the Firm to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency
- Leverage technology and data analytics to automate and optimize processes

**Position Requirements**

Education and Experience

This position requires a university degree, preferably in a business or law discipline and a minimum of two years of progressive experience. Prior work experience in a legal, finance, or billing function within the law or professional services industry is preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

- Self-motivated, highly organized with excellent time management skills
- Proven ability to work as part of a team. Capable of building and maintaining effective working relationships to become a trusted advisor to lawyers, assistants, administrative personnel, and a willingness to cooperate and share knowledge
- Strong analytical skills to look beyond financial data / report and prepare concise and actionable insight to aid business decision making and risk assessment
- Knowledge or willingness to learn about legal pricing, billing and collections operations which are key to achieving success in this role
- Previous experience with Intapp software (specifically Terms, Open, and Time) is an asset
- Ability to learn new software and programs and keep up to date with developments
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, juggling priorities and dealing with large amounts of information efficiently and effectively
