Project Controls Specialist

As a Project Controls Specialist - Energy Transition you will be responsible to support the Energy Transition program and Engineering Services to provide analytical services. Your goal will be to work in partnership with project management and project engineers to ensure proper cost structures, procedures and controls are in place for each project. Your success will help our organization meet the opportunities and challenges associated with the Global Energy Transition.

Your Responsibilities:
- Accumulate and compile accurate cost management data on a monthly basis to prepare the project report and update the progress of the project.
- Aid in development of cost control/scheduling procedures, execution plan, and business plan for a project.
- Provide accurate monthly forecasts on all projects, identifying and executing change management trends and make recommendations for corrective courses of action.
- Support Engineering Services 3rd Party vendor management.
- Provide analytical support to Engineering Services.
- Participate in weekly/monthly project cost reviews/schedule meetings.
- Participate in Project Kickoffs and ongoing status meetings.
- Provides meaningful, accurate historical data and documentation.
- Aid in development of progress tracking and change management implementation.
Your Skills:
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Must possess a strong understanding of project delivery phases, activities performed in each phase, and associated deliverables, consistent with the FEL process.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills including collaboration other teams including engineering, procurement & contracts, construction, safety, quality, finance/accounting, operations and 3rd party vendors/suppliers.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong work ethic, produces accurate and credible deliverables, meets deadlines.
- Effective communication skills both verbally and written, including presentations.
Your Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics or a relevant Engineering discipline
- 3-5 years relevant experience or equivalent business-related work experience
- Strong in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products. Software experience in Oracle, IBM cognos analytics, or TM1 is an asset.
