Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.

The Office of the Clerk is seeking a driven, organized and service-oriented individual for the regular full-time position of Privacy Analyst.

The Privacy Analyst is a member of the Legal Services Branch (“Legal Services”) within the Office of the Clerk. In addition to providing legal and legislative drafting services, Legal Services is responsible for providing leadership in the development and implementation of the Legislative Assembly’s privacy management and accountability program. This work includes developing related policies and procedures and being a resource to the Legislative Assembly, its Members and Administration by providing advice and training on protection of privacy and treatment of sensitive information.

Reporting to the Legal Counsel, the Privacy Analyst is primarily focused on the development, implementation and continual evaluation of a comprehensive privacy management and accountability program for the Legislative Assembly. In doing so, the Privacy Analyst works closely with all departments of the Legislative Assembly. The Privacy Analyst is responsible for the Legislative Assembly’s privacy impact assessment (PIA) process, and for actively promoting institutional privacy awareness and best practices throughout the Legislative Assembly.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Applicants must be/have:

- Completion of a university degree or postgraduate diploma or certificate in a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a senior policy analyst or senior program analyst position, with at least one year focused on privacy management within a complex organizational environment.
- Experience drafting, reviewing or advising on PIAs.
- Experience developing a privacy management program;
- Completion of a privacy related certificate program (e.g., CIPP/C, CIPM, BCIP);
- Completion of studies in risk management, information management or access and privacy.
