**The Opportunity**

The Training and Education Coordinator supports the development and launch of workforce and education development initiatives focused on building engagement and capacity with school aged youth. In this role, you will engage with various groups that interact with educators and youth supporting the team in fostering strong relationships. The Coordinator will work closely with COVE’s education and community partners to adopt and implement initiatives to grow the talent pipeline by engaging youth and promoting career choices in the blue economy. You will provide a key role in the newly launched _Offshore Wind 4 Kids_ program delivered across Nova Scotia to educate and engage youth on the importance of offshore renewable resources, influence career pathways, and build green skills.

Reporting to the Education and Outreach Manager, the Coordinator will collaborate with the team to drive successful adoption of workforce readiness programs in the marine technology sector.

**What you will be doing**:

- Assisting in the development and delivery of local and national level education initiatives particularly the Offshore Wind 4 Kids project.
- Supporting in the design and preparation of educational materials and resources.
- Presenting to youth using a variety of learning mediums such as e-learning and multi-media.
- Assessing program effectiveness to determine the impact of training/programs on youth participants.
- Working with education and community stakeholders to grow the talent capacity by driving awareness of workforce development programs and opportunities for youth.
- Communicating with educational and community stakeholders and partners that serve youth to promote and share education programs and projects offered by COVE.
- Supporting the launch and delivery of new initiatives as part of the workforce development program.
- Acting as a COVE ambassador in all areas of work and delivery, having a passion for the ocean and an understanding of the importance of preparing, attracting, and retaining the best talent for careers in the marine technology sector.

**What you will bring**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, Education, or other related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in program development and facilitation including education/learning and development program implementation, design, development, delivery, and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate programs.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in instructional design, analysis, measurement, and evaluation methods.
- Demonstrated report writing and project management skills to ensure program objectives and deadlines are met.
- Experience working with school age youth and/or educators.
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative and agile.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people and cultivate relationships.
- Excellent communication skills including public speaking and an ability to communicate complex ideas in succinct and compelling ways.
- Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledgeable, self-motivated, result-oriented, and able to build a plan and make things happen, while upholding honesty and integrity and without compromising attention to detail.

- Second Language (i.e., French)
- Experience working in the ocean technology field or marine sector
