Our original clinic, Isis Women’s Health Clinic was formed in 2011 in Calgary. In 2020, we started the process of building out our vision to offer multi disciplinary services for our patients in one location. Our founders, Drs. Baranowski, Coughlan, Mahalingham and Suri are part of a larger group of 16 obstetricians and gynecologists who practice out of Foothills Medical Centre.

In March 2023, we moved to our new location in NW Calgary where we are looking for additional physicians to meet the needs of our patients. Our Clinic presently offers obstetrical (maternity) care, gynecology (general and surgical), menopause support, lactation, circumcision and pelvic floor physiotherapy.

**THE OPPORTUNITY - CLINIC COUNSELLOR, PERINATAL AND POST PARTUM MENTAL HEALTH**

Mental health services are a critical piece in the puzzle that is presently missing at Avivo. Our clinic is recruiting for a Clinic Counsellor who will provide individual and couples counselling on a wide range of clinical issues pertaining to the management of perinatal and post partum mental health issues; most specifically, perinatal and post partum depression/anxiety, traumatic birth and adjustment to parenthood.

**THE CANDIDATE**

In addition to the job responsibilities listed below, the following competencies listed below are key requirements of this position:

- Masters in Counselling Psychology, Social Work or other relevant health related discipline from an accredited educational institution.;
- Two (2) years of recent related counselling experience in community and/or hospital organizations providing counselling to women and parents/expecting parents who are experiencing perinatal or post partum mental health issues;
- Experience with trauma informed care is an asset;
- Eligible for registration with relevant professional association;
- 0.10 to 0.25 FTE

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide comprehensive clinical counselling in individual and couple settings (opportunity to develop group counselling in the future);
- Complete an initial assessment of patient to determine nature of mental health challenge and best course of treatment;
- Maintain confidential patient files and documentation;
- Refer patients to additional providers if necessary;
