**Community Liaison Worker - 1.0 fte**

Location: Joseph Welsh Elementary

Temporary position until June 30, 2023

This position will collaborate with district staff, school-based staff and community service providers to promote mental wellness and support emotional development of students as part of the Learning Support Team. The CLW will also provide a variety of intervention services identified by students and their families.

The hours of work will follow a typical school day, however, flexibility to work outside the regular schedule is essential.

**Education and Qualifications**
- Active registration with the applicable professional association or college is necessary.
- Desirable: ASIST Suicide Prevention Training, SIVA, VTRA, Psychosocial Interventions
- Ability to make key judgements and informed decisions for successful outcomes.
- Organization, strong teamwork skills, the ability to prioritize multiple demands, excellent interpersonal skills, time management, flexibility, and initiative.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license, current driver’s abstract and access to a reliable vehicle.

**Experience**
- Experience working with children and/or youth, families and community services providers.
- A strong foundational knowledge with regards to trauma informed classrooms, strength based solution focused practice, parent coaching and mental health capacity building.
- Awareness and connection to community resources

Please note: Successful applicants who possess a BSW, MSW or diploma in Social Work will be required to register and maintain registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers.
