COMMUNITY SAFETY JUSTICE LIAISON WORKER
Red Lake, Pikangikum, ON
The Community Safety Justice Liaison Worker (CSJLW) will assume a dual role of youth intervention and restorative justice work within the community. They will be responsible for ensuring youth and adults are connected to appropriate resources within the community ranging from arranging preventative programming to facilitating post-charge restorative justice referrals. The CSJLW will be responsible for programming within the NAN community in which they reside and will assist in nearby jurisdictions as needed. The CSJLW will meet regularly with the Restorative Justice Management Team and other relevant stakeholders to discuss individual client cases, develop community engagement strategies, and to evaluate the progress of their program.
Qualifications:
• This position requires at a minimum a secondary school diploma with related work experience
• Experience and knowledge of culturally relevant and traditional Indigenous activities
• Knowledge of the legal system and alternative justice approaches
• Experience working with / providing support youth and young adults
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Have a genuine interest in seeing youth develop and succeed
• Computer Proficiency Required
• High degree of professionalism & ability to exercise discretion
• Organized, Punctual and Compassionate
• Able to work under minimal supervision
• Self-starter / self-motivated
• Ability to communicate in Ojibway/Oji-Cree/Cree language an asset

Hours: Full Time (35 Hours Per Week)
