**What you’ll do**

The Indigenous Recruitment Manager reports to the Director of Indigenous Recruitment & Employee Experience and is responsible for taking a decolonizing leadership approach to manage and oversee day-to-day operations relating to Indigenous Recruitment from an Indigenous cultural safety and anti-Indigenous racism lens. As a member of the Indigenous Recruitment & Employee Experience team, this position works in partnership with Indigenous Health with the shared goal of eliminating Indigenous-specific racism and hardwiring Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility across PHSA and the health system, with a primary focus on Indigenous employee and applicant experience. High-level accountabilities include the following; refer to formal job description for a full list of duties:

- In collaboration with People & Culture directors and leadership, manages the implementation and evaluation of the Indigenous Recruitment & Employee Experience strategy pertaining to recruitment; co-leads strategies pertaining to Employee Experience as appropriate, ensuring alignment with PHSA’s Indigenous Health team, Calls to Action of Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls - Calls for Justice (MMIWG) (2019 and the findings and recommendations of In Plain Sight, with the aim of increasing the number of Indigenous employees at PHSA in all occupations and levels of leadership, and support access to meaningful and effective decision making.
- Provides leadership and support to People and Culture relating to Indigenous cultural safety and anti-racism, including community engagement, recruitment of Indigenous employees, and fostering relationships with communities, Elders and others.
- Works closely with Talent Acquisition and Compensation and Classification teams to streamline Indigenous recruitment practices and ensure the Indigenous Recruitment & Employee Experience strategy goals are met.
- Monitors and coordinates Indigenous employee and applicant self-id and related reporting metrics self-ID data in accordance with OCAP principles.
- Represents PHSA Indigenous Recruitment both within the community and other Indigenous organizations as well as at PHSA-sponsored public events; oversees the social media recruitment strategy and the job applicant support program.
- Builds strong relationships with community, and other Indigenous organizations, as well as post-secondary and high school contacts to support access to health care careers.
- Oversees the development and coordination of an Indigenous Recruitment Advisory Council.
- Leads the day-to-day operations of the Recruitment branch of the Indigenous Recruitment and Employee Experience team and provides employee support and guidance from an Indigenous leadership perspective as well as including the guidance and support of the program Elder.
- In cooperation with internal and external partners, manage and resolve issues to ensure anti-racist and culturally appropriate Indigenous recruitment processes and escalates issues as appropriate according to defined procedures. Works collaboratively to establish new procedures supporting systems transformation.
- Oversees the social media strategy and Indigenous careers newsletter.
- Develops a culture of continuous learning by building healthy relationships and mentoring others, and
