**Job description**

As a DSW Instructor, you will empower students with the necessary skills to thrive as Developmental Service Workers in group homes, residential care facilities, or within the school board.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Develop and deliver engaging and informative curriculum for DSW courses
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students pursuing careers in the field of disability support work
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in DSW to ensure course content remains relevant and up-to-date
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum requirements for Developmental Service Worker (DSW)Program
- Deliver engaging and interactive lectures, presentations, and practical demonstrations to students
- Provide guidance and instruction on the principles, techniques, and best practices of working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement
- Assess student performance through assignments, projects, exams, and practical evaluations, and provide timely feedback to support their progress
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and individual student needs

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in Disability Support Work or related fields
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master's degree preferred but not mandatory
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for education and a commitment to student success
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment
- Practical experience working with Developmental Support Workers
- Experience with Zoom is an asset

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $26.00-$30.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Evening shift 6-10PM
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift 9-2PM

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Newmarket, ON L3Y 7S1: reliably commute and
- 370 Deerhide CRES. Toronto M9m 2Y6

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- teaching: 2 years (required)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Toronto/Newmarket

Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
