Job Overview:
Reporting to the Director of IT, the System Administrator will cover all aspects of business operations technical support, and is responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems, hardware, software and related infrastructure. This is a remote position that will have a focus on network support and project work and will support the staff of 70 technical professionals. This is largely a work from home position, except in the case of asset management that would require shipping, delivering or receiving devices (mainly laptops).
- Applicants must be located in the Kitchener Waterloo area, with a license and ability to transport laptops on occasion
**Applicants must have a home office with space to work on hardware/ laptops
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide quick turnaround of first and second-line helpdesk support for our staff. Staff are technical and should be resolving most issues themselves but when required it is high priority.
- Install, test, and configure new laptops (windows and mac)
- Help update and create IT documentation on our systems
- Continuously review and improve IT systems especially in finding ways to improve security.
- Complete regular maintenance on all IT systems including security checks
- Help expand our SOC2 certification scope.
- Collect evidence for SOC2 audit accreditation.
- Work with our auditor on any questions they may have.
- Meet with new staff to onboard on all systems and ensure they are set up properly.
Education & Experience:
- **3-5 years IT **support experience in a business environment.
- Degree/Diploma in Computer Science preferred but equivalent work experience will also be considered
- Microsoft knowledge and experience with **Azure AD, Windows 10 / 11, Microsoft Endpoint manager **and associated components required.
- Microsoft and/ or IT security certifications would be an asset
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong written communication skills especially around technical documentation.
- Knowledge current IT security best practices required.
- Ability to be a self-starter and ask good questions.
- Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of AWS an asset
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
- Exhibits professionalism.
