**Qualifications**Required**
- Experience driving a 1-ton Cube van or bigger
- Valid BC Driver’s Licence along with a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
- Ability to lift heavy items
- Able to work with a variety of people with professionalism and respect in a team environment
- Self-motivated and willing to take initiative, while also responding to the direction of management
- Basic English skills (verbal, reading, writing), including comfort and aptitude reading and organizing paperwork, forms, route maps, and receipts
- Steel-toed footwear

**Preferred**
- Experience working with volunteers
- Experience moving furniture
- Awareness of second-hand market and retail trends; knowledge of antiques, collectibles, and brand recognition

**Job Synopsis**
- The MCC Centre Thrift Shop is actively engaged in receiving and selling used clothing, furniture, small appliances, housewares, books, toys, jewelry, and collectibles with all proceeds designated to support the local and international work of Mennonite Central Committee.
As the Driver, you will execute pick ups and deliveries of furniture donations on a 1-ton cube truck. When the truck is not on the road, you will assist with receiving donations and other back-of-house duties at the Thrift Shop. A key element of this position is representing the beliefs, values, and mission of MCC as you engage with staff, volunteers, and the public.
This is a full-time salaried position (40 hour/week) and requires availability to work on a rotating schedule Monday through Saturday. General store operating hours are 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This position is accountable to the Back of House Manager.
MCC is a global, non-profit organization that strives to share God’s love and compassion through relief, development, and peacebuilding. MCC Thrift Shops support MCC’s work with the proceeds of their sales, promote good stewardship and creation care through selling recycled goods, as well as provide community to volunteers and the people we serve through social interaction in a caring environment.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and processing of donations
- Drive company cube van, practicing safe and respectful driving
- Provide excellent customer service
- Perform furniture pickups and deliveries efficiently while respecting donors and their properties
- Make decisions regarding which donations will be accepted
- Exercise a compassionate spirit with volunteers, donors, and customers on issue which arise
- Perform other duties as assigned

General
- Adhere to MCC BC’s Code of Conduct, policies, practices, and procedures, including Workplace Health and Safety
- Work collaboratively to create and maintain an organizational culture that prevents and responds to situations of abuse of power (sexual harassment, child abuse, racism, exploitation, and fraud among other situations)
- Participate in MCC staff trainings, meetings which include devotional and prayer times, and events as required
- Answer inquiries about MCC and communicate its mission and values as needed
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture based on Christian beliefs and values
- Model non-violent peacemaking in daily interactions

Work Conditions:
This position requires 5 or more hours of intermittent standing, walking, and driving. Duties require extended periods of standing and/or walking, driving, pulling/pushing items, lifting/carrying items, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, constant handling of used goods. Must be able to lift to 100 lbs. This position further requires the ability to constantly respond "positively" to the demands/requests from volunteers, donors, customers, and co-workers.
