Genome Prairie is looking to fill a full-time, permanent position as **Manager, Sector Innovation**, at either its Winnipeg or Saskatoon office. This role reports to the Chief Scientific Officer and will support Genome Prairie’s strategy to create a robust pipeline of applied and end-user-driven opportunities leading to new projects. The Manager, Sector Innovation, will also support or lead the development of select proposals and assist the CSO and CEO with future strategic pursuits.

You possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a strategic mindset. Your attention to detail and expertise in grant writing, project management, and stakeholder engagement will be critical in securing funding and ensuring the success of research initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Systematically explore and identify key opportunities in relevant sectors (crop and animal agriculture, environment, health) in Saskatchewan and Manitoba
- Develop, cultivate, and nurture relationships with key sector partners and stakeholders from private industry, government, and academia to support innovation, practical translation of ideas, and development of funding and collaborative partnerships
- Contribute to the GE3LS and GiS portfolio discussions as they relate to GP projects in collaboration with the CSO, Manager of Communications and External Relations, and Programs Manager
- Support the Programs Manager as needed in meeting reporting requirements to co-funders of existing projects in our portfolio
- Support the CEO and CSO in developing and implementing future strategic pursuits which may include identifying potential new sources of revenue for Centre operations and business development activities and contribute to the development of ‘omics-driven strategic pursuits that address critical needs of the region
- Represent Genome Prairie at select conferences, workshops and special events as required
**Education, Skills and Experience**:
- Business qualifications or experience in innovation, science and technology commercialization, or entrepreneurial environment, are an asset.
- Demonstrated organizational, project management and financial analysis skills, preferably in a science or technology environment, will be considered favourably
- Experience with the development, critical evaluation and review of scientific proposals and reports is necessary. Experience with the grant writing process and an understanding of research funding are beneficial
- Demonstrated experience with milestone-driven projects and an ability to identify and assess objectives, quantifiable measures of success
- Demonstrated experience and broad understanding of Manitoba and Saskatchewan life sciences research and innovation ecosystem, particularly with respect to building relationships and collaborations
- Excellent proactive communication, relationship management, team-building and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to excel in dynamic environments and consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to think broadly and understand strategic priorities
