**The Role**:
We are looking for a Technical Officer, Ceramic Materials to support our Aerospace Research Centre. The Technical Officer would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.
Some of the topics this position could be required to work in are:
- Material formulation preparation;
- 3D printing;
- Mechanical and thermo-mechanical testing;
- Material characterization.
This position is for someone who has basic materials training but is looking to do more with their hands and mind by learning and growing into even more exciting responsibilities at our materials and manufacturing facilities. This position works within a team environment where effective interaction with staff is essential. **Screening Criteria**:
**Education**:
College or Bachelor's degree in chemistry, physics, materials science, mechanics/mechanical engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
An equivalent combination of work-related experience, training and education would be considered.

**Experience**:
- Experience working in a lab environment in the areas of materials chemistry or materials science and engineering;
- Experience working with preparing materials formulation; and
- Experience working with polymer additive manufacturing.
**Assets**:
- Experience in materials characterization;
- Experience with fabrication operations such as machining and 3D printing;
- Experience in working with CAD.

- Must wear protective equipment when needed; and
- Must be able to independently work in a laboratory environment in a safe manner.

From $49,298 to $69,364 per annum. In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
