The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for maintaining the accurate delivery of locates to our contractors reducing the risk of damages to utility assets. This role requires a passionate and self-motivated individual to ensure the completion of accurate and timely locates by our Locators while providing damage prevention training and education to locators and excavators.

A solid understanding of the damage prevention industry and the locate process.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform audits of locates per telMax’s protocols for quality, individual performance, near-miss and damage monitoring response.
- Generate audit, inspection, and investigation reports.
- Monitor performance levels of Locators to ensure timely, safe, and accurate locate reports.
- Perform health and safety inspections.
- Provide locate technical assistance to Locators - on-site and remotely.
- Generate audit, inspection and investigation reports.
- Follow up with Locator on corrective actions, provide additional support/training when required.
- Monitoring to ensure that corrective actions and work method adjustments are carried out by Locators.
- Deliver seasonal training.
- On-call coverage (24/7) for emergency locates - including performance of locates as required.
- Contractor engagements to enforce the requirement for utility locates and ensure safe excavation practices.
- Perform damage investigations to determine root cause and corrective action.
- Prepare quality audit programs and schedule; coordinate and perform internal quality audits.
- Creates and implements company quality standards.
- Maintains effective communication with our partners, including customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.

**Requirements**:

- Six‐plus years of previous experience in Quality Assurance/Damage Prevention and Five-plus years of Utility Locating experience.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships and work within a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Ability to think analytically.
- Proven technical knowledge of the asset damages and the locate industry.
- ORCGA DPT100/DPT200 trained is an asset.

**Working conditions**:

- This role is comprised of a combination of field (80%) and Office (20%) work. A Valid Ontario G class driver’s license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required.
- Some overtime will be required to attend community meetings and conferences.
